March 26, 2008: Pennsylvania: Rustic Kitchen owner, Jim Cafarelli announces the build-out for a new Rustic Kitchen Bistro & Bar inside the soon-to-open Project Sunrise at Mohegan Sun in Pennsylvania this summer.
This new 260 seat Bistro & Bar will feature a Bar/Cafe , Main Dining room, and Wine Cellar for private events. The authentic interior displays handcrafted relics & artifacts representing a Tuscan Villa and allows guests the option of an intimate dining experience in one of the main dining room´s private booths, or a quick pizza from its wood burning oven in the Bar/Cafe. This Italian Mediterranean influenced menu prepared with the freshest ingredients daily, is recognized as in innovative industry leader. Its award winning cuisine and wine selection is approachable and affordable. Recognized as Boston Magazines "Best New Restaurant" in 2005 and Sante´ Magazines "Best Bistro", Rustic Kitchen is acknowledged annually with Wine Spectator Magazines "Award of Excellence".
It´s most innovative component is a state of the art, broadcast ready, television studio kitchen with live cooking shows that is the focal point inside of the restaurant. Daily cooking shows called "In the Kitchen" will occur for patrons to dine and learn in a highly entertaining yet intimate atmosphere. Mountain Top, PA native and cooking show celebrity chef, Kate Gabriele will be the Headline Host.
Working alongside her will be a troupe of talented revolving hosts to deliver a variety of hour long shows that are seasonally inspired, full of factoids, and fun, all while serving delicious entrees and wine pairings to the audience.
At project Sunrise, "In the Kitchen" will also host events that spotlight local restaurants, area chefs, industry suppliers, & farmers. As part of their ongoing production - several special shows will be broadcast on television in the Pennsylvania market, and air daily on monitors throughout the casino.
The expansion marks Cafarelli´s 3rd Rustic Kitchen Location and will be the 2nd location to include his unique broadcast ready TV Studio Kitchen and Live Cooking Show. The cooking show has been become very successful in Boston, currently booking shows 6 weeks in advance. It´s has a very loyal following of Foodies, Tourists, and Locals that enjoy the intimate setting and highly entertaining cooking show. Boston cooking show host Alissa Bigelow has become a local celebrity, frequently featured on TV Diner with Billy Costa and a favorite stop for professional athletes, and touring musicians who enjoy the lively antics, jokes, and innovative cuisine during her shows.
